They are very handy to have and so much easier then sawing by hand or mangling stuff with composite blades. Lennox die master blades are the best I have used so far.

And a technique I found that will save your blades is to not let the full weight of the arm rest on the metal. Holding a few pounds of counter pressure will let the blade bounce through a snag instead...
